What are Nic Salts?
You can say one thing for the vaping market. It never stands still. We’ve finally got our heads around the difference between VG and PG, and understood the benefits of a short fill bottle, and then all of a sudden a new type of liquid appears.
In this post, we’re looking at the new additions to the 88Vape range and asking the question – what are nic salt e liquids (or nicotine salts)?
What's the Difference Between Nic salt and E Liquid?
There’s a short answer and a long answer to this one. If you’re not interested in chemistry or how eliquids are made, the short answer will do. But if, like us, you’re a bit of a vaping nerd, you might be interested in the longer answer.
So let’s go. Short answer first.
Nic Salts are e liquids which have a more easily absorbed form of nicotine in them.
See. Short and simple.
Now the longer answer. Let’s start by looking at the freebase nicotine in your standard e liquid. It’s taken from the tobacco plant, as you’d expect. In fact, it’s pretty much tobacco with everything other than nicotine removed. This nicotine is then chemically treated, leaving an incredibly pure liquid that we then mix with PG and VG to create an eliquid. It’s also the same type of nicotine you’ll find in a patch or a gum.
Nic Salts aren’t as pure as standard freebase nicotine vape juices. But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Nic Salts are basically that nicotine you’d find in a tobacco leaf, in a natural state. Because they’re not as refined, they aren’t as alkaline as what we call “freebase” nicotine.
That means they’re smoother, less harsh, and when properly processed, more easily absorbed by your body.
You still have an eliquid you pour into a tank, you still have a range of flavours, and you still don’t have the harmful carcinogens you find in tobacco smoke, but you do have a smoother experience with a substantial nicotine hit.
What Are The Benefits of Nic Salt E Liquids?
From that description above, you’re probably already clear on the benefits. Smoother, more nicotine.
But let’s unpack that.
Easily absorbed nicotine means a few things. If you’re a heavy smoker making the switch, you’ll be satisfying those nicotine cravings more efficiently.
Even the highest nicotine strength standard e liquid type can sometimes feel lacking to a heavy smoker, and they can also come with a harsh throat hit. That means that a switch to Nic Salts will leave you more satisfied and you'll also experience a smoother throat hit.
More satisfaction means you’ll actually vape less, keeping the costs down. And when you consider that our Nic Salts are only £1 per bottle, you’re looking at amazing savings compared to smoking.
Ask any Sub-Ohm vaper, and they’ll wax lyrical about how much of a smoother throat hit VG vape juice gives. With Nic Salts, you can get that same smoothness without damping down your nicotine level, or having to invest in a mod kit.
Which brings us neatly on to the next point.
What Devices Can You Use Nic Salts With?
Because of the way Nic Salts are prepared, you can get more absorbable nicotine at lower temperatures. That means you don’t need a powerful Sub-Ohm coil. And because you don’t need to vape as much to get that nicotine hit, you only need a low-output device (that’s also perfect for stealth vaping).
What you need, is the Zillion Pod System. It’s cheap, it looks great, it can handle any of our Nic Salt e liquid range, and it fits in a purse or a back pocket. It’s as if it was designed for use with Nic Salts!
Should You Switch To Nicotine Salt E Liquid?
As with all vaping, this depends on personal preference. If you’re happy with your existing vape set-up, whether that’s a PG liquid and a pen, or a VG liquid and a mod, you may not want to try and switch. That’s fine. We all have our favourites.
But if you’re trying to quit smoking and not getting that nicotine hit you want from your existing vape, and you want to enjoy something smooth and satisfying that doesn’t need to be glued to your lip all day, we can really recommend trying a bottle of Nic Salts with the Zillion pod system. You can pick up a pod and a bottle of salts for £11 – cheaper than half the cigarettes you’ll see at the local supermarket!
So give it a go, and let us know what you think!
