What is a vape starter kit?

What are the different types of vape starter kits?

There are two main types of vape kit; open and closed.

Open Vape Kits

Open vape kits come in a range of different shapes and sizes, however the key similarity is that they can be refilled with any compatible e-liquid. Generally, they come with larger batteries and provide a more customisable vaping experience. Despite a higher upfront cost, they work out much cheaper than closed vape kits in the medium to longer term.

Closed Vape Kits

Closed vape kits come with pre-filled pods that can't be refilled or come in the shape of disposable vape pens. Single use pre-filled pods and disposable vapes provide an extremely convenient way to vape as there is minimal maintenance and require no experience, however they are less cost effective in the long-run.

What are the different vaping styles?

There are two different techniques when it comes to vaping; 'Mouth to Lung' and 'Direct to Lung'. Both have key differences in the way that vapour is inhaled and the type of device and liquids that are required.

Mouth to Lung (MTL)

Direct to Lung (DTL)

Traditional vape pens are cylindrical in shape and tend to be favoured by those who don't want anything too complex, vaping in a mouth to lung style for a more intense throat hit. Depending on the kit, you will either need to replace the CE4 or the coil within the tank when performance starts to dip. Sub-ohm vape kits tend to be favoured by more experienced vapers or those who prefer a direct to lung style of vaping. These kits are designed to work with higher VG e-liquids, so you can expect more vapour production but lower nicotine strengths. Sub-ohm kits are high powered with larger batteries, so you can expect these devices to be a little bulkier and heavier than other vape kit types, however they often have more features such as variable wattage, adjustable airflow or multiple coil resistance variations.
