Shop nowWhat vape pen should I buy?
If you're thinking about purchasing a vape pen, you might be wondering which one is right for you. At 88Vape, we offer a variety of vape pens to suit every need and budget.
Classic Vape Pen
Our popular entry-level vape pen requires minimal set up or maintenance. All you need to do is to keep the battery charged and the clearomiser (tank) filled with e-liquid. To keep you vaping you just need to buy e-liquid and extra clearomisers (both £1 each), or to make it even easier, buy our pre-filled clearomisers.
Deluxe Vape Pen
A slight step up from the Classic Pen, Deluxe Pen comes with more battery life and a glass tank which contains a replaceable coil. Apart from charging and re-filling, the only additional thing you need to do it change the coil once in a while.
50W Mod Vape Pen (DTL)
Suitable for users with a little more experience, this device offers a degree of customisation through its three different power settings. The vaping style is slightly different to our other vape pens and is geared towards users where flavour and vapour production is the priority, as opposed to replicating the smoking sensation.
Disposable Vape Pens
As the name suggests, these are single-use vape pens which provide enough battery power to vapourise the pre-filled e-liquid cartridge. These are inhale activated, so all you need to do is inhale. It doesn’t get any simpler than that when it comes to a vape pen. One pen provides approximately 600 puffs of 20mg nicotine salt, so the average vaper will get one to two days use from it.
What are vape pens?
A vape pen is a device that heats up e-liquid nicotine to turn it into a vapor. This vapor can then be inhaled, providing the user with the sensation of smoking without actually burning any tobacco. Vape pens come in all shapes and sizes, but typically consist of a tank or cartridge filled with nicotine-containing e-liquid, a heating element, and a battery.
How do vape pens work?
Vape pens work by heating up vape juice to a temperature where it becomes a vapor. The process works by the device's battery heating up a coil inside the tank. When the vape juice is heated, it turns into a vapor that you can then inhale. This process is called vaping and it's pretty much how every e-cig or vape device works.
How long do vape pens last?
Generally speaking, a good quality vape pen should last you several months to a couple of years, depending on usage. But if you find yourself needing to replace your vape pen more often than that, it might be time to upgrade to a better quality vape pen by spending a little bit extra.
What is the PG-VG ratio for vape pens?
Flavour strength depends on the PG-VG ratio. This is the ratio between Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG). PG is a thin colourless liquid that carries flavour and delivers a stronger throat hit. VG is a more viscous substance that produces a much thicker cloud.
Tip: begin with a 50/50 ratio and tailor your tastes by experimenting with different ratios. Progressing toward a higher VG ratio will typically mean investing in a more advanced vape kit, as entry-level e-cigarettes do not heat up to the temperatures required to produce thick clouds.
What about nicotine strength for vaping?
Nicotine strength ranges from nicotine free to very high (e.g. 18 mg - 20 mg). If you were or are a light to moderate smoker, you might expect to experience the same nicotine hit from strengths of around 6 mg. However, heavy smokers may prefer a nicotine strength towards the higher end of the scale - ultimately, your preferred strength comes down to trial and preference.
